Avelino Vazquez, our harpsichordist and scholar at WKMT, is such a committed musician to Baroque music. His passion and focus on this musical era are such as he doesn’t do anything else than just performing Baroque pieces in his concerts. With his Italian harpsichord restored is now ready to keep on performing many more concerts in London to make us aware of the importance of the music from this era.
And indeed, beautiful music performed through this instrument sounds fantastic. Something not very usual in London, and Europe in general.
The programme includes Arias, Suites and Sonatas from composers like Corelli, Purcell and Handel. Some of the most famous Baroque composers reunited in this new programme by WKMT. Two violins, a cello, the harpsichordist and a Soprano are in charge of this repertoire.
